I’m taking applications ahead of time for this apartment. I'm hoping to do a 'one-year lease' at first, and then monthly thereafter. I previously had always done 'month-to-month' leases, but because of insurance changes, and recent "early departures", that will have to change. Renovations are being done, and it is great if you have flexibility in case of anything unforeseen, however I expect and hope it would be done by December 1. This is a non-smoking unit (this includes vapes, incense, or sage), small dog considered, only portable a/c allowed. This apartment does NOT include the gas and electric, but I believe they only run around $65 each once you are on the budget plan with the gas company. The only holdup would be for plumbing and flooring, but plumber expected to put in new shower in beginning of November. The first and last month’s rent, plus security deposit, is required upon approval. You should also have proof of renters insurance prior to your move-in, and list me as a contact with your insurance in case there are damages that aren’t covered by your deposit. I removed old carpeting from bedroom, and now it has original hardwood flooring. Bedroom: small bedroom, room for up to a queen size bed, no bigger. You wouldn’t have much room for bedside tables if you have larger than a twin. I’m willing to buy a simple bed platform once you decide which size you want. Foot boards are NOT recommended, as it will make the space feel smaller. Fresh paint… color is “cloud blue" in bed area and closet area, the window trim and far left trim will be redone in the dark color as pictured on the sample board, and the rest of the walls will be a light grayish color, right now they just have primer on them. Living room: roughly 14’ x 14’ with an angle at one corner for fireplace (non-functional). It has sliding pocket doors, and the fireplace color will be a little lighter than pictured. A brown leather sofa is included as well as entertainment center (two black bookcases, and a tv stand to match). There is older paneling and carpeting in living room, but it will have a nice thick wool rug on top of the carpeting for extra insulation. After you’ve been here for a year, I would be willing to replace the wool rug with a large “ruggable” rug that could be washed at the laundromat. The kitchen refrigerator will be replaced with a smaller 14 cubic foot refrigerator, so that I can build an enclosure around it that can hold a microwave above it. Really narrow bathroom, just wide enough for the shower. It has a fairly new toilet and sink, and spacious linen closet. Great location, walkable to Taylor Park, movie theatre, shopping, etc. Nice location for walking. One parking spot included, and there is a spot for visitors. There is also a section of porch that would be yours.
