condition: good
make / manufacturer: Sill Stove Works
model name / number: Royal Sterling 30
I believe this is the next-to-the-largest Royal Sterling made by Sill Stove Works of Rochester, New York and Boston, Massachusetts. It is a base heater (or base burner?), almost identical in size to the Our Glenwood 111, although the Sterling looks to have a slightly larger firepot. It is complete with the exception of the fire clay/cementitious liner and has been re-barreled by a metal shop in Barre, VT that I was told by another stove owner would do a good job.

It is unusual to find a stove of this age that is complete and in as good a condition as this one is, especially the brass finial, the backpipe with original cap, and foot rails (which seem to have been chromed at some point, rather than re-nickeled.) All in all, it has been well treated in its over 100 year lifetime. The Isinglass/Eisenglas has been replaced and I will provide some pre-packaged cementitious stove liner for the firepot, if I can find it and don’t re-line it myself first. I bought this stove for the nonprofit I manage, but its Victorian office will be put up for sale soon so no need for the stove. I already have two other coal stoves, the Our Glenwood mentioned above and a Fuller & Warren indirect backpipe heater so I don't need this one.

My asking price for the Royal Sterling is $700. If interested, please call at the following number—(518)-nine-six-3-seven-3-3-six. I do not have home Internet as I can’t get a reliable high-speed connection where I live.
