I am downsizing, and need to find homes for some lovely things, big and small. Thank you.

Are you a musician? Do you know someone who would love to organize and store their sheet music ... in the grandest sense of these words? This unique cabinet is one of a kind, and in perfect condition!

This absolutely PERFECT sheet music cabinet is more than 100 years old and has wonderful detailing throughout. 6 slide out drawers are found behind a whimsically ornamented cabinet door. There are two external drawers below, and a wonderful shelf that slides out so you can inspect the music - Is it that sonata?... the passage from the trio or the quartet? (It's kind of like starting to read in the stacks...) The half circle dome is a unique choice complete with a carved ornament front and center. It has a bit of shelf under it as well - perhaps a place to leave a note? All the decorative appliques are in excellent shape, the ornaments at the top and bottom corners are delightful, and the wood itself is intact throughout - no dings, scrapes, scratches. The hardware is matching, tight and operative. All drawers and the shelf move easily and are highly functional. This pretty cabinet is held up on four legs with metal wheels.

Not into sheet music? This lovely cabinet could also provide elegant storage for clothing accessories or a collection of valuables...watches, necklaces, hair pieces. The bigger drawers beneath could protect scarves and other fine textiles from fading. It could hold any number of collectibles - miniatures, postcards, spectacles, pharmaceutical bottles, baseball cards... It's a marvelously well-preserved and special storage unit for anything you care about!

I've been told the woods are mahogany and fruit woods, but not by an expert. This unique cabinet sat next to my little Steinway mahogany upright for years. It has survived several careful moves without a ding, but I'm ready to pass it to the next person who is enchanted with both the novelty and the very fine vestiges of an earlier time.
