This vintage racing Raleigh/Carlton Super Course MKII bicycle is an absolute pleasure to ride. It was previously owned (and customized) by a young racer who drilled out the pedals, gears, and other parts for lighter weight. The brake calipers say Weinmann 750 Vainqueur 999. The bike was made in Nottingham, England. The wheels are Super Champion, made in France. The stem cap reads "3 Italy." Brooks saddle.

The bike is in good condition with some surface rust. I bought it from the racer in Burlington, Vermont, in the late 1970s, and from what I can gather on the internet, the bike is about 50 years old. I am selling because road biking is too scary for me now. Although I have enjoyed riding it on the Stowe bike path, we are downsizing and my mountain bike is more versatile. It will need a tune-up and probably new tires.

Make a reasonable offer. I have seen similar bikes going for $200 or $2,000. This one is certainly not a $2,000 bike.

And many thanks to a cyclist who sent me corrected info on how to measure things. I have edited the post to show that the frame is 21.5 inches and the wheel is 27 X 1-1/4.
