This is a complete 24-volume printing of the 14th Edition of the Encyclopedia Britannica in Red Royal leather bindings. It was printed in 1961 and the 14th edition was completely updated in 1960. The 14th edition is considered to be one of the most desired, and is considered to provide a “classical“ overview of the world. Later printings naturally had increased the focus on scientific and technological development of the 1960’s, which now are obviously obsolete. The 14th edition is a more streamlined and focused edition that concentrates on the liberal arts and history.
Set is in beautiful, like-new condition. All volumes are present, there are no split bindings or missing pages, then the atlas volume, which is rarely used anyway.
The Encyclopedia Britannica is no longer printed. A great educational resource for children outside of screens and the Internet. A great thing to have around. Can be picked up in East Montpelier. Thanks.
