We have a bunch of wood for making model railroad benchwork. There is a bunch of 1"x4" 7-ply plywood pieces, a couple of boxed sections made from the pieces and several triangular supports to mount the layout on a wall. There are also 2 helixes, used to connect two levels of a model railroad (one above the other). There's also a couple pieces of plywood.
BR>The benchwork was made by a company that made custom model railroad layouts (I think now out of business) and is designed to make a stable support for your model RR. The wood is cabinet grade nominal 1x4" 7 ply, with pre-drilled holes in the ends to screw together and holes in the middle to run wires. The helixes were made for 2 tracks, 28" radius inside track and 32" radius outside, and are about 67" total diameter. One helix has been cut into semi-circles while the other is all in one piece (heavy!) and they come with threaded rods to space each layer. Each helix has 5 levels or turns.
Email if you're interested, or if you have any questions. If you tried to purchase this material online it would likely cost you a couple thousand dollars, but we just want to find it a new home. The materials are located in Essex Jct. Check the images.
