A little brown discoloration from age on her clothing. The most noticeable being around the hem of her right shoulder of her cape. There is also some discoloration on both shoes. Clothes smell a little musty. Shes been in storage for many years. no issues with the bisque. Her face is beautiful. SFBJ (Société Française de Fabrication de Bébés et Jouets; also referred to as SFBJ) was the last of the great French dollmaking companies. Formed at the nadir of French dollmaking at the end of the 19th Century. This doll is from a 95 yr old woman that is finally selling off her collection. I'm getting a few at a time to sell for her as a favor. With that being said, please note I know little to nothing about dolls myself so my information is based on what the collector told me my personal observations and what research I can find either through books she provided me or online.
This particular doll's head is bisque/composition. Body is stuffed fabric about 9 1/2" tall and in over all bright clean unplayed with condition. I did note the discoloration on her clothing and a slight musty smell from storage. She has a beautiful pink bisque swivel head. I see no cracks, chips, hair lines, etc. She has a closed mouth. She has all original face paint. She has darker pink lips with matching nostril paint and rosy cheeks. She has piercing blue glass eyes, painted upper & lower lashes and dark well defined feathered brows. She is marked S.F.B.J. Paris, and a number that looks like 253 on the back of her head. I also noted that the name S. Koyne 1991 is written on the back of her head. She has a stuffed fabric body with movable limbs. She has all of her fingers. Repro from 1991.
