As far as I know, everything works on this car, and it runs very well. The tire pressure monitor should work — the light is on only because the wheels are from a different Subaru. The undercarriage does have significant rust.
I bought this car about three years ago as a “winter beater” and used it for two winter seasons. I’ve put around $1,700 into it and driven roughly 20,000 miles, so it’s definitely been a solid car for me.
The car is not currently inspected, but it should pass once a few issues are addressed. It needs a hole patched underneath and likely a new windshield (the current one has a spreading crack from a chip). Lake’s Auto in Rutland said it would have passed inspection if not for the hole in the undercarriage. Gary Lake has not seen the car since the windshield started cracking. The brakes will need to be replaced soon, probably for inspection. I’m not a mechanic, so I can’t say for certain if it needs anything else.
I recently upgraded to a larger winter vehicle and don’t have the time or space to deal with this one. I’d like it gone and off my insurance policy. Someone handy or with the right tools should be able to get this car inspected and possibly enjoy a couple more years out of it.
