condition: excellent
make / manufacturer: Harman Kardon
model name / number: SC2520
Rare Harman/Kardon SC2520 all-in-one FM Stereo tuner/amp, cassette player, and turntable. This is a very high quality unit that was sold in HiFi shops, not department stores, and cost over $400 new in the early 1970s.

It features an excellent vernier (round dial) FM tuner that's amazing for pulling in stations, even in my basement with just a crappy antenna. It's got a headphone jack on the front panel, treble and bass controls, a 'Contour' switch (works like a loudness button, really pumps up the bass!), and you can power two speaker systems individually or together.

The turntable is a British Garrard 3000 that can play at four different speeds: 78, 45, 33, and 16(!). It's been fully serviced with new grease for the mechanisms, an updated drive wheel, and adjustments made to the setdown and return points for the tone arm. The tracking force for the needle has been set as well. This is a stacking turntable, using the long spindle and overarm you can stack 7 or 8 records and the system will play them one after the other and shut off after the last one is done. Everything works like a charm.

The cassette deck has new belts (2) and has been cleaned. Everything works except the pause button, and nobody uses that anyway.

It comes with the original smoked plastic dust cover in good condition.

It's got some other handy features, like an outlet on the back if you want to connect something like a CD player (it will turn on when the system turns on) and it has AUX inputs so you can connect an electronic device too, like your phone.

Overall a very unique and versatile vintage system. It sounds really good too!
