For sale is a Kindle Keyboard. I've replaced the battery, so it should last a good amount of time. It's in good condition - a couple minor scratches on the screen that you don't really see while reading unless you angle it to reflect a light. I have more than one available, if you want a couple - maybe one for each kid?
These kindles do not have a backlight (or front light or any light). Basically, if you are in a room with enough light to read a physical paper book, you'll be able to read the kindle. Also, the text size can be made quite large, which helps for people with poor vision. The lack of a light is actually considered a good thing by many people, especially if you want to read before bed. These kindles also have physical page turn buttons which new kindles don't have.
I've loaded a bunch of books onto the kindle - see photos. Most are illustrated public domain books that I format as a hobby, so they look good on kindle, but there's some other books, too.
These kindles connect to wi-fi, and you can send books from your Amazon account to the kindle over wi-fi. If you have a library card/account with Libby, you can send library books to the kindle, and you can also use https://gmlc.overdrive.com. These kindles use micro-USB to charge, and I'll include a good cord. I have cords in several colors, and you can pick what you like. I can also give some advice on registering it with Amazon, where to borrow library ebooks for free, where to get public domain books for free, etc. I love kindles, and I'm happy to talk about them! I'm located in the center of Hinesburg, and work at UVM, so either location would work for pick-up.
