All reasonable offers will be entertained, references expected. Not for a rank beginner unless you have a good instructor. Please tell me about your situation/experience when responding. All other responses will be deleted.
PLEASE be prepared to send me references. Veterinarian, Farrier, etc. and give them permission to talk to me. There are so many people out there who are not honest.
~ 11 years old (probably)
~ has some "navicular" type issues -- should not jump! -- wedge shoes made him very comfortable
~ I was told he was an Amish driving pony until 2023
~ 14.1 hh
~ easy keeper but did not blow up on grass
~ lives in a shed, will live in a stall but bangs for food!
~ has been out with mares and geldings
~ stands well for vet and farrier, is naughty for deworming, a bit head shy as well...
~ w/t/c but also gaits, walk is nice, his canter is lovely (when he's not in pain or worried about pain), his trot is O.K., he also behaves well bareback
~ Has attitude when riding, I've had him 15 months, we never could get a saddle to fit right, he's wide with a prominent shoulder. I think if he was not allowed to have attitude from the start and wasn't in pain, he would be wonderful. The instructor I got him from (a jumping barn in CT) said he was great for little kids.
~ He is great on a line, either being led or longe line.
~ Has been to horse shows (VT 4-H Show, Champlain Valley Fair 4-H, and others), trailers well
We want a good home for him because we all really like him, but since I've got a lesson program and he doesn't just go around, he's not earning his keep.
