We've had bad luck, and of the eight chicks we bought from Guys Farm and Yard this year, three turned out to be roosters. We just discovered that the one we were hoping would be female is definitely male. As soon as we found new homes for the other two, this white Easter Egger started tidbitting and going for the girls.
We have two roosters already and cannot have more as we do not have enough hens. I'm hoping we can find a good home for Calliope; probably going to have to call him Cal for now. He's 14 weeks old, has been handled daily, and tends to be a bit shy but sweet.
