Real Gretsch guitar, made in Brooklyn. 1960 Single Anniversary. Unmolested and intact.
The action is high and two different luthiers have judged that it calls for a neck reset. I play
it as is but concur that to bring the action into the generally preferred parameters that a reset is
in order; that stop gap measures like altering the bridge are not advisable. A neck reset is a roll
of the dice and usual experience is a cost somewhere in the $250 - $500 range. I have priced it
accordingly. I will discuss price but having paid more than my asking price it is unlikely that I'll
be persuaded to lower it. I am, God help me, open to talking trades for made in Rhode Island Guilds
and made in California G&Ls. However, I have put this guitar up for sale in recognition that I have
more guitars than my abilities or situation call for.
I purchased it from Luthier's Coop in Easthampton, MA about ten years ago. I don't know anything
about the other 55 years of its prior history. It comes with a hardshell case. Hopefully the pictures will
give a pretty clear ....well, picture of the condition. Charleston is kind of nowhere, I can travel a bit but
I expect that a buyer will prefer to sit comfortably and plug it in.
Yes, I have a phone but presently prefer email to start. I'll call if you'd like and send along a number
