Selling a used 'modified' Taylor 416ce acoustic guitar. I'm the only owner. I bought this new at Advanced Music in Burlington roughly 10 years ago for $2,500 plus tax. This is a cedar top guitar with Tasmanian Blackwood back and sides. It has the rich low-end warmth you expect from a cedar top, and very low/comfortable action.
I've made many modifications to this guitar over the years, as you can see from the pictures. Modified headstock, upgraded tuners, modified rosette and refinished top. I also added in a second pickup system, the K&K Trinity system which uses under-the-saddle transducers combined with internal goose-neck condensor microphone. (does not come with external pre-amp for this pick-up, but you can use the transducers passively, and/or use your own acoustic preamp or buy one independently from K&K). The onboard Taylor Expression system pickup is great on it's own, but as a percussive fingerstyle guitarist, the added K&K pickup is what really picks up the on-body percussion as the expression system only really captures what's happening with the strings. I've also upgraded to 'power pins' for my string pins, which are supposed to have a truer sound then using wood or plastic string pins.
This guitar still plays and sounds great. I've since purchased my dream guitar, and no longer play this. I had thought I would keep it as a backup, but I haven't ended up needing it, and want to downsize.

This is a premeir guitar for a fingerstyle guitarist.
If you're hung up on looks, this won't be your cup of tea, but if you want a rich low-end sounding guitar with great action that sounds great acoustic or plugged in, this will be good for you.

I have a number of older music videos recorded on this guitar. Below is a link to one, but poke around on my youtube channel to hear others....
