ACTIVIST / RESEARCHER (Brattleboro, Vermont)

non-profit organization
relocation assistance is possible

JOB: talking with people, petitioning, fund-raising, survey-taking, social media communications, writing, and research. Local applicants are preferred, but some work can be done from home.

We have advanced many global issues in Brattleboro and local issues as well. Since our big win with the Youth Vote we are concentrating on the emergency of climate crisis, advancing conventional legislation, starting an emergency declaration, and researching emotional aspects of the issue as well.

In 2010 BCS won a court order ending censorship of petitions, so that Brattleboro people and other organizations can act locally on global issues. BCS has acted on nuclear power, renewable energy, election reform and climate rescue, and BCS advanced the Youth Vote amendment, to bring the voice of youth to these and local issues. Who joins BCS ? ; our directors, who separately started significant actions like the Bush Indictment, which was reported around the world; a plastic bag ban, which was just approved in the state capital, and town offices of the future and sustainability. These things follow the conscience of Brattleboro. Join or donate to Brattleboro Common Sense: together our voice goes far.

The image shows BCS workers in the 2019 Heifer Stroll parade. Two are carrying the banner calling for a declaration of climate emergency while the third plays a distraught farmer whose crop is decimated by relentless rains.
